The Fairfield Collection comprises of the art and heritage items formerly displayed in the Fairfield Halls prior to its closure for refurbishment in July 2016. This collection is also home to the archives formerly on site, including programmes, diary of events, photos, signature books and ledgers relating to the history of Fairfield.

Since 1962, when Fairfield first opened, some of the greatest stars of music, variety, comedy and theatre have performed in the Concert Halls and Ashcroft Theatre – from David Bowie to Jacqueline du Pre, Ella Fitzgerald to Elton John, Morecambe and Wise to The Beatles.

In May 2017 the ‘Fairfield Collection’ and ‘Art of Fairfield’ exhibitions opened at the Museum of Croydon. These share with the people of Croydon excerpts from some of the interviews collected, as well as showcases some of the Collection safeguarded prior to the closure and celebrates the Fairfield’s history.

On this website you can view some of the wider archive collection that can be accessed via the Museum of Croydon Research room.
